CONFIRMATION
The mission of confirmation ministries at Immanuel is to teach the story of God’s love in order to draw out a personal living and growing faith in Jesus Christ, thereby affirming God’s baptismal grace and providing a basis for active adult participation in Christ’s church.
One of the goals of Confirmation ministries at Immanuel is to cultivate a personal, living and growing faith in God through Jesus Christ using worship, study, experience, discussion, prayer, and service.
Participation in confirmation ministries at Immanuel begins when the 7th graders attend Confirmation Bible Camp in the summer and continues with the regular confirmation program 7th through 9th grade. Students in 7th & 8th grade attend weekly events on Wednesday evening that include a time of worship and teaching in a large group as well as time in small group “huddles” with adult “guides” and 4-7 confirmands.
Students in 9th grade continue their involvement attending Wednesday evening class with the pastor, and through regular meetings with one other peer and a Faith Mentor. They also continue regular worship attendance and participate in scheduled retreats.
Confirmation Services for 10th graders take place on Reformation Sunday. (October 27, 2019)
Confirmation students put their faith into action as they participate in scheduled servant events and regular worship. Parents are invited into all aspects of the confirmation process.
